Kampung Tour
- A 3-hour "back-in-time" experience of the kampung (malay
village) days. Walk through a rubber plantation in the small enclave
of Sungai Mas Village (River of Gold) and discover the process of
rubber tapping and latex collection. Explore the traditional Malaysian
kampung house, drink from a wild coconut and eventually ending your
trip at an oil palm plantation, a major contributor to Malaysia's
booming agro-economy.
Kota Tinggi Visit
- A mere 45 minutes scenic drive, this little district in the
state of Johor (there are eight districts) is home to a population
of just about 200,000. A sleepy yet thriving town filled with
quaint shop houses and the distinct Malaysian "sidewalk cafe"
coffee shops. Tour the museum, have a light local lunch and check
your bargaining abilities at the Pasar Mini Kelantan, a showcase
of vendors selling clothes, shoes, household linens, handicrafts
and other knick-knacks. End your visit with a short trip to Kota
Tinggi's landmark 34 metre waterfall.
Fruit Farm Tour
- Just 10 minutes by land transfer from the resort, this 90-acre
tropical fruit farm is a showcase of fruits from Asia. Depending
on the season, this agro-tourism farm boats a wide range of fruits
at your disposal to touch, feel and taste. A guided tour of the
farm will bring you up close and personal with nature's tasty
treasures, the 1000-koi pond, a little antiquities museum of Malaysia
and a bazaar of ffruits to purchase for home.
River Cruise
- Take a relaxing boat cruise along the Sungai Lebam tidal river
that connects to the South China Sea. Cruise on constantly mirror-flat
waters to explore the wonders of the mangroves, observe wild monkeys
in their natural habitat and birds of the forest & sea. Reflect
on the picturesque scenery of nature's rich and unspoiled flora
and fauna.
River Fishing
- Hook, line and sinker, and of course, some bait is all you need
for our River Fishing experience on Johor's picturesque Sungai
Lebam. A coastal tidal river that flows with the rising tide of
the South China Sea thus bringing marine habitats of sea bass,
groupers, snappers and sting rays. All equipment will be provided.
Your catch of the day can be served for dinner. However, we do
encourage the release of inedible fish and fishes less than 8
inches long to protect and preserve our environment.
Fireflies Experience
- The elusive fir-fly that once buzzed in vast numbers within
the forest and jungles of Asia is now a dying breed with urbanization
and destruction of our natural flora and fauna. However, due to
strict forest management by Johor's environment agency, a wetland
reserve of Desaru's Berembang trees is home to millions of these
fascinating insects that lights up the Lebam River. A truly unforgettable
experience.
Ostrich Farm
- Situated in the sleepy town of Sungai Renggit, lies a unique
farming experience - an ostrich farm. Don't expect any high-tech
farming but just a unique "kampung-styled" farm where
the ostrich are bred for its meat and eggs. Learn how the eggs
are hatched, baby ostriches raised and eventually bred in captivity.
Explore the small souvenir shop that sells ostrich-made products.
Crocodile Farm
- Located in the town of Telok Sengat, just 35 minute away is
a small enclave of fresh and salt water crocodiles from a private
collection of well-known Johor's Crocodile Dundee. Don't expect
anything fabulous in terms of informative guiide will bring you
an understanding of one of earth's most misunderstood creatures.
Golf
- Desaru offers the golf enthusiast the Desaru Golf and Country
Club and Sebana Cave Marina & Golf Resort courses, 9 and 18-hole
golf courses respectively, situated only minutes away from the
resort. Preferential tee-off prices and complimentary shuttle
will be provided for our guests patronizing Desaru GCC. For Sebana,
the normal rates and transportation charges applies.

- The Desaru area has limited taxi services within its community
since majority of the residents self-drive. There are only 2 registered
taxi vehicles that provide transportation and it is a first-come-first-serve
basis. The resort will assist in making the necessary reservations. |
